Painted rock
It's a bit high-contrast and overly detailed up close. I think it's OK in the photo, it looks great at a 1 to 2 foot viewing distance, but in real life up close it's a bit salt-and-pepper. I think this is down to two things - too much texture (sand) in the gesso, and a black wash which was a bit too dark. It's good enough for now though.
